Buffalo Grove

Buffalo Grove is a beautiful village where Illinois residents can experience community living at its best.  The quiet neighborhoods and tree lined streets are just the beginning of the benefits of life in Buffalo Grove.  The true hallmark of the village is the concentration on community life, with many cultural activities and free weekend events to keep residents busy.

The Village of Buffalo Grove and the local Chamber of Commerce love to host regular weekend events for the many families in the area.  These special events are called “Buffalo Grove Days” and have been a regular event since the 1960’s.  The first Buffalo Grove Days were celebrated with simple neighborhood picnics, but today’s events feature a wide variety of entertainment, and even a parade.

Residents who participate in Buffalo Grove Days enjoy the dozens of delicious foods, a carnival, arts and crafts, and even fireworks.  Buffalo Grove Days also has special events planned for people with disabilities and their families.  Each year, new events are added to the community party to keep it exciting and fun for everyone.

Dozens of restaurants serve citizens throughout the area.  Local favorites include Cajun Joe’s, El Famous Burrito, Outback Steakhouse, and Pastabilities.  An eclectic blend of food awaits residents in every corner of Buffalo Grove.

The Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band is another highlight among the community entertainment.  The Band was first started in 2001 by the Buffalo Grove Arts Commission.  Now 70 musicians participate in the band which is free for residents to join.   The Band plays for many community events throughout the year, with music styles ranging from jazz to pop to classical.  Each year, residents of Buffalo Grove gather to hear formal concerts at the high schools, as well as holiday concerts at various churches.

The Band also plays at another huge celebration in Buffalo Grove.  The annual Independence Day Fireworks show wouldn’t be complete without a concert from the Band.  Fireworks always happen on July 4 in Buffalo Grove, with most residents coming out to enjoy the event.

Buffalo Grove citizens also enjoy two of the nicest golf courses in Illinois.  The Buffalo Grove Golf Course and the Arboretum Club are both open to the public, with discounts available to area residents.  Both courses have excellent restaurants on the premises.

People who enjoy community living will feel right at home in Buffalo Grove.  If you are looking for a place to call home, Buffalo Grove is a wonderful place to have a family, run a business, and enjoy neighborhood living at its best.

BUFFALO GROVE NAMED BEST PLACE TO RAISE KIDS!

Buffalo Grove was named as one of the top fifty best places in the US to raise kids according to a Business Week survey. Working with national real estate researcher OnBoard in New York City, Business Week identified the top fifty communities based on five criteria: test scores, cost of living, recreational and cultural activities, number of schools, and risk of crime. Only seven Illinois communities made Business Week's top 50. Congratulations Buffalo Grove!
