Kildeer

Kildeer is a quaint village in Lake County, Illinois.  Located four miles north of Palatine and 29 miles northwest of Chicago, Kildeer is considered to be part of the Chicago-Naperville-Joliet metro area.  The population remains around 3500 people, consisting mostly of families with children. 

Though Kildeer is a small town, there is no lack of opportunities.  Family-centered lifestyles make casual dining and community events important.  Kildeer residents enjoy many restaurant options when dining out.  The local Chipotle Mexican Grill has earned quite a reputation among residents for the famous burritos.  You can also grab a one-of-a-kind sandwich at the new Jimmy John’s Sandwich Shop.  The local Chili’s Grill and Bar usually draws a big crowd on the weekends as well. Kildeer also offers many opportunities for people who love to shop.  The Shops at Kildeer and the Quentin Collection, both situated on Route 12 along Rand Road offer numerous stores for shoppers to explore.  The Deer Park Town Center is also convenient to Kildeer residents, with over 70 exclusive stores and restaurants.  Kildeer residents can spend hours combing the many stores including Vera Bradley, Banana Republic, Gap, Pottery Barn, J. Crew, and Bath and Body Works.

Kildeer also has various recreation opportunities, including the private Farmington Bath and Tennis Club.  There is also a community YMCA on nearby Old Mill Road.  Lake County offers plenty of activities for outdoor lovers in the many parks, fitness trails, and golf courses.  Fishing is also a fun, easily accessible pastime for Kildeer families.

Kildeer has complete access to several hospitals, as well as various private practices.  Good Shepherd Hospital offers the closest care, but Northwest Community Hospital is also close to Kildeer.  Northwest Community Hospital also provides a 24 hour emergency care center for residents.    Kildeer takes great pride in the local schools.  With so many children in Kildeer, residents are highly dedicated to producing good educational institutions.  Most of Kildeer residents are included in the Lake Zurich Community Unit School District.  The north and east parts of Kildeer are included in the Community Consolidated School District.  There are also nearby opportunities for students to enroll in private schools.
