Long Grove

Long Grove is commonly called “The Little Town that Time Forgot” with its rich history, beautiful scenery, and dozens of shops tucked away in southern Lake County.  Located east of Barrington, south of Lake Zurich, and just 25 miles northwest of Chicago, Long Grove is central to many area businesses and amenities.

Long Grove’s cobblestone sidewalks beckon visitors to enjoy over 80 shops and dining opportunities.  You’ve never experienced shopping like you find in Long Grove.  The many shops are a shopper’s dream come true, but the small-town feel makes shopping a relaxing experience.  Long Grove residents love to spend evenings and weekends strolling along the sidewalks and enjoying the comfortable community atmosphere.

The town is also rich in heritage with great historical significance.  Many original buildings still stand in the crossroad area.  You can see the various businesses that once made Long Grove thrive in the 1800’s.  Plaques mark historical highlights such as the grist mills, blacksmith shops, and dairies.

You can even attend services at Long Grove Church, which has been housing services continuously since 1840.  Long Grove’s beautiful covered bridge also draws visitors.  The beautiful scenery makes history exciting as the early taverns and one room schoolhouse stand nearby.

Perhaps the most exciting part of living in Long Grove is the many annual festivals.  Long Grove takes advantage of every opportunity to celebrate community and draw a crowd.  People flock to the many shops and restaurants while festivities line the streets.

The annual Chocolate Festival always draws a crowd, with dozens of chocolate delicacies available to enjoy.  For the past ten years, Long Grove residents have gathered to listen to live music, browse the shops, and eat a lot of chocolate!  Venders offer every chocolate treat imaginable from chocolate popcorn to chocolate cake.  You can even find fresh chocolate-dipped strawberries or even chocolate donuts.  If it can be made with chocolate, you will find in at Long Grove’s annual Chocolate Festival.

Long Grove is most famous the yearly Strawberry Fest, which draws nearly 50,000 visitors every year.  Other community events include the Greek Days Festival, Irish Days Festival, Art Festival, Apple Festival, and the highly popular Oktoberfest.  As if all of those festivals don’t make Long Grove living extraordinary, the holiday festivities will certainly send residents over the top.

The town is completely community-centered with dozens of opportunities for family fun throughout the year.  Long Grove is truly a unique, exciting place to live, play, and do business.
